A social media photo of a young lady that presents a daughter of Samia Suluhu Hassan, the current president of Tanzania is false.
The information has been used by a dozen accounts and profiles on the internet.
The woman in the photo is Kenyan famous star, Trisha Khalid.
Pinax news, Come to Kaduna and several social blogs posted: “The daughter of new Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan” the posts recorded several reactions, comments and shares.
Several Internet users, who have seen the photo, believe that it is indeed the new Tanzanian President- Samia Suluhu Hassan, with her daughter.

The Stage Media (TSM) conducted a search on this photo in order to trace its origin. Traced via the Google Reverse Checker, TSM found a result identifying the image to an Instagram account (@Trisha Khalid), a famous film actress in Kenya with over 600,000 followers.
Other photos were taken in the same context identity the second woman in the photo as Saada Khamis Fateh and some of these photos are from February 2021. Trisha Khalid also starred in the TV series ” KOVU ” where she played the role of Ruby.
We analyzed the photo, taken from another angle, still of Trisha Khalid with Saada Fateh, we clearly noticed that it is not President Samia Suluhu Hassan in the photo.
Tanzania’s President has a certified account on Instagram that wears a certification badge, proving its authenticity.
On the other hand, the public figure identified by the Kenyan star is not Samia Suluhu rather Saada Khamis Fateh, another film actress in Kenya. On her Instagram, Saada Khamis Fateh also presents herself as “Mistress of ceremonies” and as the interpreter of the role of Alisa, Ruby’s mother in the film “Kovu”.
Samia Siluhu Hassan is the first woman President of Tanzania. She was born on January 27, 1960, in Zanzibar and married to Hafidh Ameir in 1978. Ameir and Suluhu had four children. Their daughter, Mwanu Hafidh Ameir, imitated her mother and entered politics and is currently a member of the Zanzibar House of Representatives.
