Liberia has lost her full membership rights at the AU but not at IMO

Claims: When the AU disclosed that its founding member (Liberia) has no voting right, and will now be an observer, social media users said Liberia has lost both voting rights at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and  African Union (AU).
The IMO is the United Nations’ specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine pollution by ship.
For the AU, Liberia will no longer vote while at the IMO Liberia was not re-elected as member council but it maintains its rights at the IMO.
In fact, both bodies are international organizations and influences by Liberia to attract donors, pundits said it is a missed chance.
Fact Check: Liberia lost its coveted seat on the 40-member council of the International Maritime Organization, relegating the country to floor membership and a demoted level of influence in the world maritime body.
