On November 2, 2024, the outlet published an article on its website titled “ Resolution to Remove Koffa Missing, Bloc Members Hesitant to Sign New One Amid Bribery Allegation.” The article states that they have uncovered that the original signed resolution is missing, and members of the bloc are increasingly reluctant to sign a new one.
The furthered that this information-missing resolution started on October 17, 2024, when Representative Luther Collin took hold of the resolution after receiving a payment of US$15,000 from Representative James Kolleh.
Verification: Foday Fahnbulleh, a member of the “majority bloc,” has refuted claims regarding a resolution for the removal of Speaker J. Fonati Koffa, describing the information as misleading.
He clarified that the original copy of the resolution is currently in the hands of a Justice In-Chamber at the Supreme Court due to a complaint filed by Speaker J. Fonati Koffa and other members.
“When the matter reached the Justice In-Chamber at the Supreme Court, we could not submit a photocopy of the document; rather, the original copy of the resolution was presented. Fahnbulleh said.
Rep. P. Mike Jurry, when contacted via WhatsApp, dismissed such claims. “The claims circulating about the resolution are incorrect.”
He labeled it as mere propaganda aimed at damaging the reputation of the majority members of the house. He stated that the resolution is not missing, asserting that the majority does not need to ask members to sign it again, as they already possess it.
When contacted, Cllr. Darryl Ambrose Nmah, the Director of Public Information Services, clarified the situation regarding the majority Bloc’s response to Speaker Koffa’s petition.
He stated that there was no response from the Majority Bloc because the matter was only called for conference discussions and did not require a formal response at that time.
