Vaccine Shortage Puts Children at Risk In Liberia

0

The
Ministry of Health has confirmed the shortage of the Bacilli Calmette-Guérin or
BCG Vaccine in Liberia.

The
Ministry’s confirmation comes amid concerns raised by baby mothers after being
turned away at hospitals and clinics due to the shortage.

BCG Vaccine is often
given to infants in countries where Tuberculosis is common as a means of
protecting them against contracting TB or as a means of building their system
against the disease.
