Full Text: On late Tuesday evening, June 24, 2025, Mr. Emmanuel V. Sensee, former manager of GIBI FM and current Truth FM reporter, posted on his Facebook account claiming that a 40-year-old man identified only as "Justin" was on the run after allegedly killing his two children in the New Kakata Community, Kakata, Margibi County.
The post stated, "A 40-year-old man only identified as Justin is on the run for allegedly killing his two children in the New Kakata Community in Kakata, Margibi County. The cause of his action is still unknown as the Liberia National Police actively search for him following the devastating incident. Keep posted."
Verification: To authenticate this claim, we immediately contacted relevant authorities in Margibi County
Acting Commissioner of Police (ACP) Patrick B. Kormazu, Commander of the Liberia National Police Kakata Detachment, categorically denied the claim.
"The LNP Kakata Detachment has not received any case of such nature, nor are we in search of any individual named Justin for an act of murder," ACP Kormazu stated.
He explained that if such a serious crime had been committed, the community and family members would have immediately informed the police. "At no point have we received a complaint of murder from the New Kakata Community," he emphasized.
ACP Kormazu urged media practitioners to verify information before publication, noting that false reports "have the propensity to cause chaos and put affected people at risk."
New Kakata Community Chairman Joseph Charles also denied the allegation, clarifying that no such incident has occurred in his community since he assumed leadership.
"The community is at peace, and the crime rate is on the decrease," Charles stated, calling on news reporters to "properly investigate alleged crime cases before releasing them to the public."
Sensee was contacted but he did not give a definite response on the inquiry.
