Full Text: On December 15, 2025, Gray claimed that a politically connected individual allegedly linked to President Joseph Boakai's family was arrested by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) after being found in possession of illegal drugs reportedly valued at more than US$200,000.

According to Gray, the suspect was never taken to court, and the individual was secretly escorted out of the country due to political affiliation and family ties to the First Family.

The post generated 622 reactions, 334 comments, and 97 shares as of the time of publication.

 

Verification: To verify the accuracy of this claim, Stage Media reviewed official LDEA communications and cross-checked reports from multiple sources, including DN News Liberia and the Women Voices Newspaper.

According to information published by the LDEA, Dominic Morlue, a 35-year-old Liberian national, was arrested on April 19, 2025, in Paynesville, Bassa Town Community, following an intelligence-led operation. The operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of marijuana.

With Morlue's consent, LDEA officers searched for his place of operation, which uncovered:

The estimated street value of the seized drugs was approximately USD $295,000 or LRD 56,050,000.

At the time of the LDEA's public disclosure, Morlue remained in LDEA custody, while investigations were ongoing and formal charges were being prepared for prosecution.

Stage Media Liberia contacted G. Olando Demey, Chief Public Relations Officer of the LDEA, who confirmed that the suspect was taken to prison, "The LDEA took the suspect to prison, where he is now. You can ask the court if you have further inquiries."

On December 19, 2025, Stage Media also wrote to Jutonu Y. Kollie, Director of Press and Public Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, who advised that the inquiry be directed to the LDEA.

We then contacted the head of the Bureau of Corrections, Atty. Gabriel Ndupellar, who confirmed that suspect Morlu was released on a court's order from the prison. "The subject was released since May 17, 2025, with a release order signed by His Honor Cllr. William G. Saygah of Paynesville Magisterial Court."

 

Conclusion: Based on the available information, there is no credible evidence to suggest that the individual was secretly removed from prison since the BCR has a record of his release. The claim that  Morlu is released from prison is correct. Additionally, no information has been provided regarding the current location of the suspect since his release.
