Claim: " I think Christoph The Change and Jackie Russ took the African Baddie challenge personally.”

Source: King Baby

Verdict: Fake; the image is AI-generated

Full Text: A social media user, named King Baby, posted a half-naked image claiming it's Liberian rapper Christoph The Change and Jackie Russ on Facebook with a short write-up: "I think Christoph The Change and Jackie Russ took the African Baddie challenge personal."

"African Baddie" is a recent hit song produced by Karwoudou Cole, stage name Bucky Raw.  At the time of this check, the post has generated 5.6k reactions, 415 comments, and 71 shares.

Christopher Christoph Nyenga
is a 32-year-old Liberian rapper and songwriter, while Alex Nyenga, known as Jackie Russ, is a Liberian producer and music video director.

Verification: To verify this claim, The Stage Media checked the official Facebook handles of Christopher The Change and Jackie Russ, and the following was discovered:

  1. Contrary to the image King Baby posted, Christoph The Change has a tattoo drawn on his body, as seen in the photo below.

We found that a January 7 image posted by Jackie Russ with the caption "The Nyenga Boys " was the exact image that was manipulated. This implies that the image might have been taken from Jackie’s page, edited, and reposted rather than those men participating in the African Baddies challenge, as Baby makes the public believe.

  1. Another thing we took a close look at is the face cap, headphone, glasses, nickel, and watch on the original image, which is exactly as the one on the manipulated image, as seen below.

Conclusion: After discovering that the original image was posted by Jackie Russ on his official social media handle, and the tattoo on Christoph The Change and other details from the original image, we conclude that King Baby's post is misleading; the image posted was AI-generated.
