Similarly, claim: “Boakai builds a $10 million dollar mansion in Foya.”

Source: Foday Massaquoi

Verdict: Unproven; no evidence to prove Boakai has a $10 million mansion in Foya.

Full Text: Foday N. Massaquoi, the chairman of the CDC-Council of Patriots, claimed that President Joseph Nyumah Boakai is building a $10 million mansion in Foya, Lofa County, where the president hails from.

Massaquoi is the former National Secretary General of the Coalition for Democratic Change-affiliated Civil Rights Movement, tagged CDC-COP.

CDC-COP  was founded in October 2020  after breaking away from the Council of Patriots, originally established by a self-styled political commentator, Henry P. Costa, in April 2019.

Massaquoi  is currently the chairman of the CDC-COP after its February 2, 2025, Sinjeh, Grand Cape Mount County convention, which led to the election of a new corps of officers.

At the time of this fact-checking, the post has generated over 30 reactions, over 40 shares, and over 50 comments.

Verification: To verify the claim, we reached out to Massaquoi, who said, “This was posted by Boakai's son via TikTok on his page and he's an Executive Mansion blogger."

We checked the official TikTok account of an account user titled 'Jnb Son,' a pro-government online blogger who often shares major developments and updates from the government and Presidency and did not find anything related to Massaquoi’s claim.

We also checked Jnb Son’s official Facebook page, where he often cross-posts everything from TikTok and did not see anything to substantiate Foday’s claim.

This researcher  reached out to Jnb Son via Messenger to inquire from him if he  posted any information of such as claimed by Chairman Massaquoi but didn’t get any response up to the time of this final verdict into the claim.

We will update the public if we get feedback from Jnb Son regarding the inquiry made.

Also, we reached out to our Lofa County fellow, Fatorms Dunor, to authenticate the information.
“I can confirm that the construction is ongoing but the site is highly restricted; media practitioners are not allowed to access the site easily.” - Dunor said.

According to Dunor, he had no idea about such a project cost.

However, we also saw a similar post from former Montserrado County District #8 lawmaker Moses Acarous Gray.

Under Gray's post, an individual that is alleged to be the contractor of the project contact was shared by one of the commenters under Gray's post, but there has been no response to our direct calls and WhatsApp messages.

Similarly, Kula Fofana, presidential press secretary, read the WhatsApp message from 8th May, including subsequent follow-up, but did not respond; when she does, we will update this article.

Conclusion: The claim made by Massaquoi is unsubstantiated, as we could not find any evidence to support his claim about Boakai building a $10 million mansion in Foya.
