Full Text: Shine Liberia, a Liberian blog operating mainly on Facebook, published a post on Monday, January 26, 2026, claiming that the Student Unification Party (SUP), a University of Liberia student-based political party, instructed its militant brigade to deliver the living body of the Inspector General of Police, Col. Gregory Coleman, to the party’s chairman within 24 hours.
Shine claimed that “SUP reportedly declares Police IG Coleman wanted. Instructed the militant brigade to deliver his living body to the chairman in 24 hours.”
The post generated significant engagement, receiving 651 reactions, 239 comments, and 30 shares within less than seven hours.
Verification: The Stage Media contacted the Secretary General of SUP to verify the claim. He refuted the statement, clarifying that the party has not issued any such declaration and remains committed to law-abiding practices.
“That statement is deceptive and is a misrepresentation of the party and what the party stands for. SUP is a very decent institution; we have always addressed issues based on diplomatic means and in sacred ways. We will never resort to violence. So that statement is false and is a misrepresentation of the party, and whoever is doing that should desist immediately. The chairman is the official and legitimate spokesperson of the party. The chairman has not made any such position. By tomorrow, the party might respond to the SONA, so that claim is false,” Odecious Mulbah, Secretary General of SUP, clarified via phone interview.
