Full Text: Worldwide News Blog, an online platform with 23k followers posted on October 20, 2024, that Jonathan Lee Pratt who goes by the stage name JZyNo unveils a $ 2 million mansion in Liberia.
JZyNo is an Afropop sensation born on January 3, 1995. He gained fame with his classic track Kpan Kpan Me which was released in 2020.
The same blog made a similar post congratulating Maurice Tosh Gayflor (Carlor CIC) on the completion of his mansion worth $1.1 million.
Born in 1994, Tosh is a Liberian artist known for his numerous back-to-back hits. He started making music in 2013 and became a household name in the entertainment industry
In 2019, Tosh released his debut album “1994 The Throne,” featuring international artists like Iyanya, Soulja, Aramid, Buffalo, and MzVee.
As of this verification, both posts have generated 373 reactions, 91 comments, 46 shares, and 868 reactions, 80 comments, and 51 shares, respectively.
Verification: We checked both the Facebook and Twitter handles of Tosh and found no such information nor any post by others except that of the Facebook post made by the blog. For further verification, we contacted Tosh via WhatsApp relative to the post on the blog; on the contrary, he responded that the information was fake. Kindly see the screenshot below.
Similarly, we have checked Jonathan’s Facebook and Twitter handles and found nothing on him constructing a mansion as claimed by the blog.
We only found an October 20, 2024, post that Jonathan made on his Facebook page about enjoying his ride to his apartment, with the blog screenshot attached to the structure to make the public believe it belongs to the music icon.
We initially tried reaching Jonathan through the email indicated on his Facebook page but it didn’t go through.
We WhatsApped him to authenticate the post by the blog. In a whatsapp response which he deleted a few minutes after, Jonathan said “it’s a blogging thing. Maybe in the future.” This comment implies that the post about him constructing a two million dollar house in Liberia is false.
We also did a photo verification check on the image using Yandex, a verification tool that authenticates images, and found that the blog post was manipulated.
A similar test was done on the structure accompanying the post made by the blog on CIC using Yandex. We observed that a photo was manipulated.
Conclusion: Our findings show that both posts by the blog are fake and intend to attract followers.
