No, Thomas Fallah is not the first defeated candidate to congratulate his opponent before the official declaration of results by the NEC.

Mulbah Morlu, Chairman of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change in a statement said, “It is the first time a defeated candidate in the history of Liberia is congratulating his opponent before the official declaration of results by the NEC,”

The statement by him is FALSE, Judge Yamie Gbeisay contested in 2014 against incumbent Nimba County Senator Prince Johnson, he (Cllr. Gbeisay) conceded defeat prior to the National Elections Commission officially announcing its results.

Also, Robert Sirleaf, son of ex-president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, conceded defeat before the NEC could announce the results.

Research unveiled that there are more candidates that have conceded defeat and Thomas Fallah is not the first candidate.

 

Fallah, incumbent representative of District 5, contested in the just-ended special senatorial elections against 9 senators in Montserrado.

 

Incumbent senator Abraham Darius Dillon with provisional listing shows that he is leading the CDC candidate Fallah.
