On December 14, 2013, a fire gutted at least three units at the Edward Binyah Kesselly Barracks EBK Barracks affecting six families and their possessions.
Claims: “That the barracks at the EBK military base were renovated to improve the living conditions of our men and women in arms.”
Source: President George Weah at fourth Annual Address
Fact: Yes, renovations were completed in sections of the EBK barracks. The places are two billets (buildings) of eight apartments within the Sergeant Majors Quarters and two general bathrooms (males and females) within Enlisted Quarters.
Though there were some renovations carried out within the barracks but not all destroyed structures were renovated as claimed by President Weah in his State of the Nation Address.
Verdict: Overstated
